Our refund and returns policy lasts for 30 days. If 30 days have passed since your purchase, we cannot offer you a full refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it, in the original packaging. To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase. Items must be in the original condition, and in the original packaging.

A 10% restocking fee applies to any and all returns of physical products.

Some items are non-returnable, and thus are not eligible for refund:

  • Gift Cards
  • Gift Vouchers
  • Membership fees
  • Digitally delivered content, such as downloadable files

There are certain situations where only partial refunds may granted, at the sole discretion of Grinning Jackal Entertainment:

  • Items with obvious signs of use
  • Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error
  • Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery

Storyteller Guidance Sessions, Storyteller Hosted Tabletop Roleplaying Game Sessions, and other services

Our services cannot be returned, and as such cannot be refunded once payment has been processed. Payment details are required upon registration, in order to secure placement in a session. Payments are processed 48 hour prior to a session’s start, unless otherwise specified in contract.

Sessions may have a minimum number of attendees required for the session to occur. If an open session does not reach the required number of attendees 48 hours prior to the start of the session, it will be cancelled at no charge to any participant. If you wish to book a session with a low number of attendees, we recommend contacting us for a private booking.

Session costs may be refunded, either through booking credit or to the original method of payment, if a session is cancelled with less than 48 hours notice by the Storyteller or Grinning Jackal Entertainment. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that they have adequate internet access and other means to attend the booked session(s). Emergency cancellations with less than 48 hours notice may be refunded as booking credit at the discretion of the Storyteller as outlined in our Code of Conduct, but such refunds cannot be provided for repeat violations. Customers are not entitled to refunds if they have their access to a session terminated, are blocked from booking further sessions, are muted during a session, or receive any other disciplinary action or sanction in response to violations of our Code of Conduct.

All Grinning Jackal Entertainment services are subject to our Terms and Conditions, Code of Conduct, and Privacy Policy. Please contact us if you have any questions.


Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment within 7-14 business days. If we are unable to process your return to the original method of payment, we may offer store credit for an equal amount.

Late or missing refunds

If you have not received a refund yet, please check your bank or payment method account again. It make take several days for the refund to appear, depending on their policies and processing methods. There is often additional time and processing by your financial institution after we have initiated the refund process. We cannot be held responsible for the decisions of your payment processor.

Sale items

Only regular priced items may be refunded. Sale items cannot be refunded. If we approve a refund for an item sold at a sale-price, the refund will be for the sale-price that was originally paid.


We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, please contact us for instructions.

Gift Purchases

If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be sent to you.

If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and they will find out about your return.

Shipping Returns

To return your product, please contact us for instructions on how to ship the return.

We require a tracking number for any items shipped to us as exchanges or returns, and recommend insurance. If you chose to use a shipping service other than one that is provided to you by our returns department, you will be fully responsible for paying the associated shipping costs. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you live outside of the United States, you will be responsible for any additional customs declarations or fees required to ship from your country to the United States.

The time it takes for a package to arrive may vary depending on your location and any customs requirements. We cannot process a refund unless we receive the returned product. We cannot guarantee that we will receive a returned item.
